Abstract: In order to deal with environmental pollution and degradation caused by the discharge of duck manure during the breeding of meat ducks on fermentation beds, a sensor-based monitoring system for litter performance was proposed. By means of the simple Kriging (SK), the spatial distribution of temperature and humidity of the fermented mattress in the duck house was studied, and the cross-validation was carried out with the actual measured values of temperature and humidity on the fermentation bed. The results showed that the root mean square error (RMSE) of the measured value and the predicted value of the temperature and humidity of the fermented mattress material in the duck house were 0.292 2 ℃ and 0.68 respectively, the mean bias error (MBE) was -0.015 ℃ and -0.017, and the coefficient of determination (R2) were 0.970 7 and 0.987 5 respectively. The fermentation area of the whole duck house was in the center of the facility, and the highest temperature was maintained above 45 ℃, and the room near the air outlet was basically at room temperature. The fermentation period of the fermentation bed was about 200 h. With this method, could not only determine the maturation rule for the material of the fermentation bed, but also provide a database for the management and control of the fermentation bed by means of the environmental distribution of the bedding material.
